American TV series

long ago that I want to write a post on the American series. Problem: I'm no regular, and frankly I do not look very rarely. I'm always curious to learn of new series but not to the point of wanting to watch the pilot episode or a few at random. At the time of
Friends already (which may have started the trend, though this is a sitcom) I kept too much to get excited blissfully back to the adventures of heroes 2x3 + some guest stars. To pass the time I see the two seasons that trailed from a friend over a few episodes here and there but overall I do not like sitting watching TV. I feel like I lose my time, I find it sufficiently challenging since I surf regularly. Friends remember before I have not caught on X-Files. But this time it was context specific paranormal who has always left me unmoved.

All this does not keep me out of pure intellectual curiosity, interested in all series abound since 2000. I loved Dr House which I have seen a dozen episodes, all very well built around the same frame. Anyway, I feel no need to get a full season. There is this side confined common to all series I think that me away fast enough. This reassuring for people high before a skylight get tired very quickly indeed. I saw much of the first seasons of Ally McBeal at the time it happened on M6. It was a nice appointment, which I followed with some friends at the time, but I could have done something more interesting (ok, the goal of the series is definitely to rest, thinking of something else) . In the aftermath there was Sex and the City which amused me the time of 2-3 episodes, but mostly I found it extremely futile. I was not really in the heart of the target and it is true that the series often turn to targeted populations that films are want to look more broadly.

SERIES vs. U.S.. U.S. v. NICE. SERIES FRANCHOUILLES (arf)

Precisely digress about this comparison: it became unnecessary to specify that the U.S. series are much more creative than American cinema. The reason is quite simple (and very clearly stated by John August on his blog there are now many years: the writer is at the heart of TV production while in the U.S. film industry It is not just an employee on the books, and especially thank you for exploitable almost always interchangeable. but I say U.S. design rubbed off on many U.S. producers in Europe, for example, who have the annoying tendency to take for Selznick or Harvey Weinstein soon as one of their films has gleaned a bit of success. A U.S. television writers are recognized as the actual producers. Those are the ones the stars, not a bankable actor or filmmaker waou-in-your-face. The writers then become producers of the show when they are not already behind the project. After a while the best writers are turning to TV: what are the best just because
  • they have no pride to think that TV is not good enough for them

  • what interests them is the ability to do their creative work under the best circumstances, ie where their importance is recognized and where they can develop effective collaboration
Finally, if the series walk, they may draw one or more films, and even though it would not be where they were able to give the best of themselves, explore many narrative lines, trails, bring to life characters, etc.. without the frustration of orders and depend absolutely the whim of executives who understand nothing of their trade.

This aspect, which differentiates successful series of U.S. soft mediocrity sets in France, I have not seen mentioned in the blabla semiologist Vincent Colonna to Telerama. The only thing that I've chosen is indeed the Americans have understood that remained of the television radio film (hence the importance of dialogue) while in France it still wants to make movies the poor on the small screen.

BREAD + = GAMING SERIES

Going back to my counting sheep (although I have not left enough time for a series of make me a soporific effect), I do not sing the praises all the U.S. series that I have to try. Lost example, having seen an episode at random, then the first episode many years later, I find it completely invalid. Characters into a single dimension that do not interact and are just really moved by the writers at the option of twists which, given the number of seasons, must be very numerous. That's why I would describe as a Lost soap adventures. So should not ask too much adventure.

I saw the pilot of Californication . Funny, but hey, I did not want to see more because I'm pretty pretty sure it does not have much potential for renewal. Never tried 24 despite all the incentives. I must have the first 2 seasons on a hard drive, but it interests me less and less. Dexter, Nip \\ Tuck , Desperate Housewives? Never seen either. Know what it is enough to satisfy my curiosity.

That said, I'm pretty committed to the series of my childhood and where coherent arguments may not be interested in a contemporary series, nostalgia compels me to try to discover the remake of Prisoner (with John Caviezel and Ian McKellen). Amazing, no?

3D Tintin: the crab with the golden eggs with American Greetings and Avatar

Finally, for about six months, we know that plans for a Tintin staged by Sielberg will emerge. The first time we had talked about this project was in the days when Spielberg movies was still packed an enthusiasm worthy of the adventures of Tintin, and devoid of sentimentality clumsy. Although this adaptation project has not emerged 25 years ago, there is Indiana Jones became the tribute to Spielberg's Tintin, while Rio Man and the tribulations of a Chinese in China (Philippe de Broca, with Belmondo) films remain closest to the spirit insufler by Hergé's hero throughout his adventures (1).

Indiana Jones is a nobody, dressed as an archaeologist to give the density, immersed in adventures riddled with riddles and dangers he faces without scrolling. Tintin side is much more translucent, smooth and blissfully courageous. Indiana Jones himself is truly human, he has a geeky side, he is afraid of snakes, each time he runs behind the evil Nazis but never gives up. Indiana Jones is a brief Tintin rewritten to the public American cinema and it was good like that. On the other hand, the adaptations of Tintin cartoons took away much of the charm of the album, but allowed to introduce them to new generations, often taped to a display of books that even very colorful.

Technologies today will they give a new dimension to Tintin? Visual level it can trust the U.S. to be creative in keeping with the spirit of the original work, however I have more doubts in the story. Firstly I think we should ask Tintin more accurately than in books where it is vaguely described as a reporter. Again the writers do Americans know, but I hope they will even Hergé relearned their craft in terms of accuracy and rhythm. The worst thing for me would be that Spielberg directs it along the lines of Indiana Jones 3, which adds a father to his comic book heroes (2). This is not to recreate the environment of everyday heroes and unfortunately the trend in Spielberg's sentimental heaviness.

Personally, I found the album where Tintin camped in the most convincing in the sense that it is not just caught up in an adventure but precisely because a job as an investigative journalist, this is the beginning of the Country of Black Gold. Can reasonably take the canvas for the link to the plot of Crab Claws gold because it is, for the first film to meet Tintin and Haddock (Haddock is obviously because the one who brings humanity to his adventures). But how to link this meeting in the main adventure of the first part of this trilogy Secret of the Unicorn / Red Rackham's Treasure?

Basically I am quite skeptical at first because for the Secret of the Unicorn must already know Tintin Haddock, requiring traffic to chain the Crab with the Golden Claws (Ben Omar and interpreted Salaad by Gad Elmaleh) with the opposition to the wicked brothers Loiseau. Really weird. But above all I fear that this need all connected, Captain Haddock is no longer presented as an old alcoholic and just a colorful sea bass on his own property. Whatever the talent of writer, I am very skeptical.
responses certainly at the beginning with the first images.

(1) Hergé has also, for starters, was largely influenced by the cinema: in particular the pace of the silent comedies of the early albums (Harold Lloyd, for example) and some major filmmakers specific examples of pre-war including (Alfred Hitchcock, Fritz Lang), but he is the true creator of the iconic heroes of the twentieth century whose adventures are all over the world, blowing up part of the daily life of his contemporaries. In this sense James Bond is a variation of Tintin, the most prominent and enduring of course, but without the visual design, so dynamic, the hero of Ian Fleming's books were not worth much.

(2) and I do not even talk about this hideous patchwork of Indiana Jones 4 ... Spielberg Tintin almost killed her, hoping he has found a little youthful enthusiasm for Tintin. On this point I lost faith in Peter Jackson.

Simon Jodoin, Andre Peloquin and BangBangBlog, homophobia thought out?

Screenshot Site BangBangBlog

"Necrophile", "Freak" and "my guys" are just some some of the insults that I use Simon Jodoin past few months already. He also posts a supposed caricature of me by a man shaving , using my photo collage (which did not BangBangBlog use rights and which is in direct contravention of copyright for a media that is not safe. This photo belongs to Olivier Samson Arcand photographer) with a work by Caravaggio (known for his outrageous sexuality at the time, according to Wikipedia ). Simon Jodoin, Andre Peloquin (the editor of BangBang me Pickbone also for months on Twitter) and BangBangBlog also allow an anonymous comment to me saying :
Moral: Michelle White is busting with the suspenders and its referencing if it was not a fairground attraction, one would do anything to fuck her advice internet.

As far as I know, is the property of BangBangBlog Journal See who is known for its openness to diversity of race, orientation, identity and culture. I have trouble understanding that such an institution leaves with impunity its flock , use of such images homophobic breach of copyright and lack of understanding at this point?

On Wikipedia:
Homophobia is hostility, expressed or implied , to individuals whose romantic or sexual preferences involve individuals of the same sex. This hostility is the fear, hatred, aversion or disapproval of homosexuality. Homophobia means so prejudice and discrimination against homosexuals and homosexuality. "Just as xenophobia, racism and Antisemitism e, homophobia is a manifestation arbitrariness of designating the other as not, or less abnormal. "

transphobia (Or Less Commonly, transprejudice and Trans-Misogyny," latter Referring to transphobia directed Toward transwomen) refers to Discrimination Against Transsexualism transgender and transsexual people gold, based On The expression of Their internal gender identity (see Phobia - informal & informal terms prejudice or class discrimination). Whether intentional or not , transphobia Can Have severe consequences for The Target Of The negative attitude. SHIFT

Bangbang It seems that does not belong to View and is not a division of View in any way, and nobody has to see control over what is published on its pages. However, President Editor View is also a shareholder of the company that controls Bangbang.

Update2

I tried for several exchanges of internal email tool Facebook, to reach an agreement with the president of Editions BangBang inc., Pierre Paquet. We do not however come to an agreement and camped our positions respectively. Mr. Paquet me claimed he had no editorial control over the activities BangBangBlog, although he is president.

According to the register of businesses in Quebec, Les Editions BangBang Inc. majority-owned URBACOM INC.. and its president is Pierre Paquet. Urbacom in turn is owned by several directors including Pierre Paquet is also chairman. Finally, Communications Voir inc. is also owned by Urbacom INC.. and its president is also Pierre Paquet. So, as I said in my first up-to date, does not belong to View BangBang. Both belong to rather Urbacom Inc.. and have the same president. Moreover, they all have the same address, 355, SAINTE-CATHERINE WEST 7TH FLOOR ZIP CODE: H3B 1A5. In summary, when Mr. Pierre Paquet make sure that:
Bangbang is not to see and is not a division of View in any way, and nobody has to see control over what is published on its pages.

I can not, obviously, the word for it.

I also sent a formal notice to Simon Jodoin and Andre Peloquin, commented incriminating in their ticket. They did not publish this comment. Yet they say in their first modified:
We can understand that Michelle White did not appreciate the remarks of Simon Jodoin (which do not relate in any way its orientation sexual). The most basic media ethics is that if it wishes to exercise a right of reply, it is with pleasure that we publish his reply.

Elsewhere on the Web, Mr. Jodoin is also chuckles:
In my view, there are two types of moderation: the first works by exclusion, by the second intervention.

The exclusion is not just not publish reviews.

The second seeks rather to respond to comments in opposing the issue and warning that if the author persists in his foolishness, we will sort the wheat from the chaff in its interventions. In some cases, it even happens that it is others that do.

I personally have always favored the latter. It allows both displays to light some stupidities, to use education (we must explain in each case our disagreements) and gives the benefit of the doubt to players (it is possible to misinterpret them thought). In the case before us here is what I did and got the desired result: the speaker has not persisted. This is what happens most often.

I would answer that a big "Yeah." We flush what suits us and we draped in a shroud of the virgin defending the right to free expression and pedagogy to leave comments (which may have even written himself by using pseudonymity) vile, mean-spirited, irreverent, and homophobic Our Kind, forthcoming.

Further to my notice, the comment was changed, but the image is always despicable. This will be a story to follow, before the press council, the Committee on Human Rights, the courts or of each of these bodies based on the advice of my lawyer.

Another asshole anonymous

Last night I was at the book launch "fucking fag" buddy Jasmin Roy. During his speech, he could not help shedding a few tears in the audience for remembering his difficult adolescence and homophobia daily or regular, he was the victim. Yet there are still people who believe that gays are finally accepted in our society. That the battle for acceptance is finished! There is more at stake! Quebec is open. I believe there was indeed very good progress, but much remains to be done. Has become a kind of symbol transsexual, I received a lot of love yesterday. But outside those circles almost elitist, I still get my share of looks doubtful, "Mr." heartfelt, insults and even threats. I stand, I face and I denounce vigorously. Nevertheless it is still a little sore and that despite all the love I receive, and I get a lot, it's always these little turds of shit asshole too cowardly to bring to light their bullshit, that assail us. Regarding death threats on my neo-Nazi, the case has progressed rapidly (say it's relative) and definitely reach concrete results. Meanwhile, to show you that the road is still to do, I wake up with this comment from an asshole in my anonymous blog michelleblanc.com.
