Advantages Of Water Cooling Engines

American TV series (continued) - The Flashforward

I am back after a series of U.S. tests. Ship the remake of Prisoner with Jim Caviezel . Absolutely nothing, I've watched the first 3 episodes when this series has only 9. OK, it is a British series, but it is obvious that what makes producers lose his head on one side or the other of the Atlantic, is the success of Lost . (Personally it does not make me turn my head because I think it completely sucks, and so artificial. But this is not the first time a formula well clumsy walk back out of a population of addicts who get bored at night after the grind in front of their small screen). To summarize

syndrome Lost , without going into detail on the invalidity of Prisoner 2009, especially compared to the potential of the original series: it disseminates information on several episodes and several characters, exposing bits of backstory to dilute the whole (or, at best bind it all), the context is the main plot that does not deliver to the public only once flashbacks sparingly. Finally, if the basic story is already clumsy, this process of narrative stingy scenario gives a mixture totally boring and tedious to follow. Anyone with a bit of brain arousal is well aware of the artificiality of the narrative, so if more elements of the narrative itself is grotesque cliches ...

FlashForward

I did not let myself apart and left tempted by the concept of FlashForward series is currently broadcast on ABC. Simple concept, with a sympathetic supernatural side (some say SF, which proves that the fans are great SF naive): one day the whole world loses consciousness for 2 minutes 17 seconds and during this blackout people vision of what they will do exactly three months later.

short, this is a very interesting concept and well written in most of the characters (and dialogues so) and very well interpreted. It's a series that starts strong then, but soon the writers tangled brushes want to dilute the sauce (the sauce spoil?). From episode 3 we balance an old Nazi war criminal jailed in Munich, which would have seen something interesting to advance the investigation into the blackout. Behind the intrigue with secondary characters become too present at the same time as the main characters seem to wallow in their understanding of the problem. And I'm only in episode 4 of the 22 that make up the season 1 ...

STRENGTH OF SUSPENSE, GOLDSMITH'S WORK OF WRITING

It is quite amusing to see how much can easily become addicted to a series of suspense and well thought out, conversely, how fast it picks up once the suspense is too bogged down or diluted. Lost uses and abuses of the big effects, big flips, the deus ex machina to feed the boiler. It's big, it works. Unfortunately for FlashForward the plot is more subtle and they can not invent a monster or Darth Vader to intervene just to revive the suspense at regular intervals.

After the first two episodes FlashForward I was pretty excited for the next. After they lost focus and I was less anxious, which does that, taking account of other qualities of the series, I'll see the rest of the season in the coming weeks. At my pace, especially with the weather I may still not make me more episodes in a row.

The main problem with FlashForward , despite the original concept is coming back to the artifice classic flashback. Unless they are FlashForward, but ultimately it is in exactly the same situation dilution with melodramatic plots that chokes the air of suspense. From what I read on the internet writers have tried to react after the winter break, but it was too late. FlashForward stop when his first season after having delivered some partial answers on the how and why the blackout.

Another problem: the plot is multifaceted, there is no clear villains, there's not a situation as simple starting in Lost or 24, so the slightest slackening in the pace viewer picks. The winter break (3 whole months!) Will have been fatal.

Finally, I see a final problem with the intervention of the supernatural. Either you flip frankly in SF, or we find rational explanations (for now it is the turn which may be weary spectators too) and you lose the magic trick. So I think that does not make choices for precise positioning on this point, the producers have left their baby himself.

That said as a feature film 2:30, or even a TV movie in 2 parts, there is something to do. Reduce 45 minutes x 22 episodes = 16 hours to 4 hours by not returning a minimum of scenes to boost the pace plane-plane-switching-pub original should not be too complicated. If the producers were smart he would let users move their mounting an FlashForward Reduced . But I'm not sure we are producers who are working for ABC can understand how to use the internet to give their work ...

EDIT 24 / 5: FlashForward alternating hot and cold. The episode 5 is a model of acceleration of suspense without accelerating the plot, but it cools a bit and then it is decidedly difficult to sort out all the accumulated information on the different characters, not counting those for which does not FlashForward, or new characters.
